Government Cyber Security Academy

The Government Cyber Security Academy’s mission is to create a more diverse security workforce by investing in talented individuals, providing a guided pathway into the Government Security Profession, and a career where people can make a real difference.

Technical qualifications are not required. We value transferrable, core skills just as much as technical skill, and provide opportunities to develop both through structured training and support.

What is important is that applicants are motivated individuals with strong interpersonal skills, proven strengths working in a changeable environment, who can make effective decisions using data and evidence, and are prepared to challenge themselves in a new career.

Through a highly targeted 10-week programme featuring industry recognised qualifications, mentoring and experiential learning, we deliver high-quality graduates from a wide range of professional backgrounds to our participating departments, providing a pipeline of talent for critical entry-level cyber security roles across the Government Security Profession.
